Founded and lead a 12-student multidisciplinary hardware engineering team building a motorized 3-axis physical Bloch sphere hardware platform. Features continuous gimbal rotation, optical feedback, and real-time serial interfacing with Qiskit quantum circuit simulations to bring abstract quantum states into tactile physical reality.

Optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) microscope for 2D spin defects

Designed, machined, and calibrated a compact room-temperature quantum sensing microscope at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Utilizes green laser excitation (532 nm) and high-NA optical collection to interrogate shallow boron vacancy spin defects in hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) to measure nanoscale Johnson noise and magnetic fields.

Dynamic Bilayer Twisting with Superlubricity

Manipulable twist-angle 2D TMD heterostructures utilizing incommensurate interfaces

Investigated methods to dynamically tune the relative twist angle of semiconductor transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) bilayers in situ. Leveraged inter-layer structural superlubricity and piezoelectric/magnetic actuation to manipulate moiré superlattices and electronic band structures without destructive re-fabrication.
